Collaboration

POD 7 & AfriKonnect

“We turn AI ideas into working tools that people actually use.”

POD 7 is the collaborative builder group formed during the Mythos AI Accelerator. AfriKonnect is the group product at the centre of the collaboration.

Why it belongs here

Collaboration is part of the build skill.

The portfolio keeps POD 7 separate from my individual project ownership. This section documents collaborative product work rather than presenting AfriKonnect as a solo build.

AfriKonnect was developed collaboratively by the team, from the first brainstorming session through to the tested, working website.

Discovery

Finding businesses, products and services.

The discovery experience brings featured businesses and products together so a visitor can browse by category, city and offering rather than searching blindly.

Business side

Two sides of the same platform.

Business owners can list their business, while visitors follow a simple search, discover and connect flow to reach them.

From idea to working product

AI-assisted product development, not just AI-generated output.

AfriKonnect started with a team brainstorming session rather than a predefined solution. We used GPT as a thinking partner to explore and refine the ideas, then used it again to structure the selected concept into a PRD. That specification became the foundation for the build in Emergent, where the team iterated toward the working product.

The AI tools accelerated the process, but the team remained responsible for the product decisions, requirements, evaluation and refinement of the result.

  1. 01

    Team brainstorming

Multiple ideas were discussed and evaluated collaboratively.

  2. 02

    GPT-assisted ideation

GPT was used as a thinking partner to explore, refine and challenge the ideas.

  3. 03

    Product decision

The team selected AfriKonnect as the concept to develop.

  4. 04

    PRD development

The team worked with GPT to define the user problem, product requirements, features and workflow in a structured PRD.

  5. 05

    Emergent build

The PRD was taken into Emergent and used as the foundation for building the working website.

  6. 06

    Iteration and testing

The team reviewed the generated product, refined the experience and tested the build.

  7. 07

    Working product

AfriKonnect became a functional digital platform for discovering African-owned businesses, products and services across Germany.

Process

The tools supported different stages of the build.

ChatGPT

Ideation and PRD generation

Used to explore ideas, challenge assumptions and turn the selected concept into a structured product requirements document.

Emergent

Development and design

The PRD was taken into Emergent and used as the foundation for building, reviewing and iterating the working website.

Whogohost

Domain registration

Whogohost was used to register the AfriKonnect domain and give the working product its own live web presence.

What’s next

Exploring what AfriKonnect could become next.

The next step is to explore whether AfriKonnect can grow beyond the accelerator into a longer-term product.

  1. 01

Continue building with the Germany-based members of POD 7.

  2. 02

Collaborate with other people, businesses and communities in Germany.
